Description
My dad passed away in January. His request was to be cremated.
These days there are all sorts of creative ways to memorialize a loved one with art, most being very expensive. I decided to give it a try with watercolors! Painting people is not my strong suit. I wanted to do something for my mother and the family to remember him by. They’ve been married for 68 years, so it made sense for me to paint the two of them in front of their home. I used a photo that my sister took recently, as a reference.
I incorporated a little bit of his ashes into the background wash and in his shirt in this painting. It’s just a simple token and I’m pleased that a little part of him is still with us!
If you would like to order a 9″x12″ Memorial Watercolor Painting using cremation ashes for people or pets, contact me directly. I don’t claim to be a portrait artist at all, but I will attempt figures representing people and pets. I can also paint florals, landscape, architecture or other subject matter that may be meaningful. Send your reference photos and a small sample of ashes.
